Programmer Studio IDE. The document window (on the right) displays
the code or hex editor for the current file you are editing. The
workspace window (on the left) displays the structure or class view
for the current project or the syntax of the current file. The output
window (at the bottom) displays compiler output, find results or
the current debug session.

Compiling and Error Highlighting. Programmer Studio gives you
one-click compile, real-time output and automatic error highlighting
using your existing compiler tools. Simply specify the commands
you already use to compile/build/check your programs and Programmer
Studio will do the rest.

CodeAware Class View. The Class View lists the recognized functions,
procedures and class definitions for all files in the current project.
Placing the mouse pointer over an item in the class view tree displays
the item definition. The output window displays the results of a
find in this file.
Support for Embedded Languages. With the continuing development
of the Internet, the requirement for interactive web content has
resulted in the increasing use of embedded programming languages
within HTML pages. Using the Contents As item from the View menu,
you can quickly switch between the different language components
of single file.

Extensive COBOL Support. Protect the existing line numbers while
editing, ensuring that new lines are numbered following the correct
sequence. The workspace window displays the syntax for the current
file, while the definition for the variable under the cursor is
displayed as a tool-tip.

Seamless Interface to your existing servers. Using a
customized File dialog box you can open and edit files on any server
as easily as a file from your PC. The information displayed in the
detail view changes to reflect the server file system. In this example
the directory being browsed is on a UNIX server.

CodeAware Parameter Tips. In this example the parameters for
the function error_ex are being displayed while typing. The
current parameter is displayed in bold. Also in this example you
can see the detailed file syntax with the output window hidden to
increase work area.

Integrated Debugging (1). Programmer Studio provides a visual
interface to your existing server-based debuggers. This example
displays an active debug session. The current statement is highlighted
in yellow with a previous breakpoint in dark red. The output window
displays the actual debugger session which can be used interactively.

Integrated Debugging (2). This example displays the options
available for controlling the remote debugger from within the Programmer
Studio IDE. The output window displays the contents of nominated
variables. In these two examples the debugger used is WDB on HP-UX.

Visual File Compare. Quickly and easily identify differences
between two files.
